What's up!

I'm a first generation college student and attending university is kind of a big deal in my family. And even though I've already gone through two years of my undergraduate education, I'd like to capture and record the experiences the rest of my time at school.

Currently majoring in Sociology, minoring in English, and getting my certificate in Asian American Studies. I have a lot of interest in taking courses in Political Science and Psychology. I work two jobs on campus totaling up to 20-25 hours a week. Clubs I participate in are an anti-genocide coalition, an Asian American journal, and the school's newspaper. I'm in training to be a Writing Tutor as well as a Peer Advisor. It might sound like a lot but I want to make the most of my time here and take advantage of every opportunity--as well as squeeze out whatever I can to make taking out thousands of dollars in loans worth it. ;P

You'll probably see these recurring themes in my posts: being Asian/Korean American, a first generation college student, issues with being overweight, dealing with stereotypes, and many more other topics that might not sound as interesting. But hey, this blog is mainly for myself so that I can look through the posts to see what sort of person I was in college and the changes I went through.

Please feel free to comment and chat! I enjoy making new friends and having engaging conversations.
